Betty Herard De Soto, President & Founder 

Betty Herard De Soto is the President and Founder of the Sisterhood Guild of America.

She is naturally predisposed to support others and facilitate their success.  This sense of sharing was also encouraged by her parents at an early age.

Prior to forming the Sisterhood Guild of America, Betty served as the President, and Vice President of two international organizations: Ladies Guild 1991-1994, Mesa Redonda Pan Americana De Santo Domingo 1991-1997. She moved to Florida, then decided to apply her diverse leadership experiences in non-profits, and her love to help others into one, by establishing the Sisterhood Guild of America, Inc.                              

Maud Budhoo Pasquet,  Vice-President

Maud Budhoo Pasquet was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti. She was raised in America where she received her scholastic education. She earned a Ph.D. degree in Marriage Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU).  She has been a clinical family service provider for over 30 years in various capacities. Maud is the president of Family System Solution Wheels, Inc.  She also works with numerous agencies providing group, individual therapeutic, and education services both locally and abroad. Maud is a people-oriented person with a passion for her duties.

She followed the trend of Sisterhood Guild of America for a year before she expressed the desire to join the group.  She became a member in 2018 and feels privileged to be part of an organization that expands her scope of services to students in need.

Simone C. DennerySecretary of Act

Simone Dennery was born in Les Cayes, Haiti, and migrated to the United States where she earned her degree of Bachelor in Architecture at the City University of New York. She is a Registered Architect in the State of New York where she practiced her profession for 40 years in the private and public sectors.

 At the community level, she was involved in two non-profit organizations and contributed her efforts to teaching arts & crafts to children.  She also participated at another Foundation in the Fund-Raising Committee.

She joined the Sisterhood Guild of America in 2020 and took immense pride in being part of this organization whose mission is to help provide financial opportunities for underserved students in the pursuit of their education.

Jocelyne Josaphat,  Correspondence Secretary

Jocelyne Josaphat was born in Haiti and migrated to the United States where she pursued her college studies in New York.   She served as translator and secretary for an ambassador to the United Nations.  She later worked for a reputable auction house in N.Y.

When she moved to Florida in the 1990’s she continued her studies to concentrate her efforts in the health services. She has worked in pediatric as well as gerontological care and administration.

She is happily retired, devoting her time to sewing and enjoying her wonderful grandchildren.

She joined the Sisterhood Guild of America in 2023.  She is pleased to be a member of the organization and is proud to serve as the Correspondence Secretary to help further the SGA objectives.

Marlene Chassagne,  Treasurer   

Marlene Chassagne was born in Petit-Goave, Haiti, and was raised in Port-au-Prince. She migrated to Brussels, Belgium to continue her secondary education. Later she moved to the United States and studied Travel and Tourism at Newbury Junior College.  She worked for the airline industry for 16 years, then proceeded with a career change.

She went into Health Care and earned a degree in Social Services. She worked for Harvard Health in Boston, and for different other health insurance companies and hospitals.

She joined Sisterhood Guild of America in 2018 and feels privileged to be part of an organization that has a goal to enhance the life of needy youths and provide scholarships to students with financial needs.

Marie-Brea Hyppolite, Scholarship Chairman

Marie-Brea Hyppolite was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and migrated to Florida at a young age where she attended Robert E. Lee Junior High School, Miami Edison High School, and graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School.  Married at a young age, she is the mother of two sons, Jacques Dany, and Konrad Alan.

She attended Barry University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Telecommunication.  She also attended Nova Law School. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Barry University as well. She worked and retired from AT&T after 25 years of service.

She has been the Director of the Minority Business Development Administration, Director of the Covid Response and Relief Business Program, and Director of the Technical Assistance Program for the Florida State Minority Supplier Development Council. Now, she is looking forward to retirement again.  She is also a Co-Founder of the Sisterhood Guild of America.
